This is the first painting recently completed after arriving back home to Ibiza & freshly energized from traversing the globe. Excited to have the paint flowing again and let brush strokes dance across the canvas.
Underneath this painting lies a large abstract I had completed over time. In a random moment I decided to over paint it in white & use the textures created combined with sanding through to the colors below to bring a different look, this was my original intention but as I launched into this piece it soon became apparent there was no stopping the new direction it was taking & I'm really happy with the result & portrayal of this scene I had wanted to produce, with the abstract hidden below as part of the work's deeper foundation.
